Maria Elena Barilla

Maria Elena Barilla, 68, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 26, 2017. Maria Elena was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She was born on December 11, 1948 to Frank and Marian Lanosa and was the eldest of four children. Maria Elena was a graduate of Wolcott High School and Southern Connecticut State University. She married her beloved husband of 47 years, Raffaele Barilla, in Waterbury, CT in 1970. In 1995, she relocated with her family to West Palm Beach, FL. A lifelong elementary educator, she most recently taught gifted second graders at H.L. Johnson Elementary School in Royal Palm Beach, FL. Maria Elena was extremely proud of her sons, Ralph Jr, of Wellington, FL and David Barilla and wife Alicia of Winter Garden, FL. Her grandchildren, Hudson and Hadley Barilla, were the delights of her heart. In addition to her husband, sons and grandchildren, Maria Elena is survived by her sister Edith Pagoni, and brothers Fred Lanosa and Frank Lanosa, sisters-in-law Lena Barilla and Antoinette Barilla, and mother-in-law Maria Barilla, as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Lanosa, her mother, Marian Lanosa, and her grandmother, Marian Salvador.
