Maria Alonso, a la edad de 81 años, ha partido en paz con El Señor el día 7 de Enero del año 2026. Nació el 15 de Julio de 1944 en Colombia; hija de sus amados Padres Mercedes y Nicasio Zorro. Maria acudió a la Universidad antes de convertirse en Maestra en Colombia.

Maria amaba al Señor Jesús, y amaba a las personas. Sus manos raramente estaban quietas ya que siempre estaba ocupada ya fuese enseñando en la escuela dominical, cocinando, tejiendo o cuidando de sus seres amados. Maria compartía su amor por Cristo con sus hijos, nietos y con su comunidad extendida; enseñando, realizando todo tipo de manualidades, dramas o adorando, Maria siempre buscaba tener una comunión con su Abba, así como también ayudar y servir a todos a quienes ella amaba.

Por muchos años, Maria se desempeñó como maestra en Colombia. Era guiada por su pasion de ayudar y servir a otros, su lenguaje del amor era servir. Su vida fue un vivo ejemplo de Proverbios 31:19-21 “Tiene sus manos ocupadas en el hilado; con sus dedos tuerce el hilo. Tiende la mano al pobre y abre sus brazos al necesitado. Cuando llega el invierno, no teme por su familia, porque todos tienen ropas abrigadas”.

Maria deja tras su partida a sus cuatro hijos con sus familias extendidas; Sandra (Frank), Jose Luis (Katyuska), Ilse, y Katherine (Yunior) junto con 7 nietos y 10 bisnietos.

Maria Alonso, age 81 went to be with The Lord Jesus Christ peacefully on January 7, 2026. She was born July 15, 1944 in Colombia to her loving parents Mercedes and Nicasio Zorro. Maria attended college before she became a teacher in Colombia.

Maria loved The Lord, and She loved people. Her hands were rarely still as she was always busy doing things from teaching on Sunday Bible school, cooking, sewing to caring for her loved ones. She also shared her love for Christ with her children, grandchildren and with her extended community. Whether it was teaching, making all sorts of crafts, listening to worship music, Maria always looked forward to having a communion with her Abba, as well as serving in any way She could the ones she loved.

For many years, Maria worked as a teacher in Colombia. She was driven by a passion to help and serve others, her love language was to serve people. Her life was a living example of Proverbs 31: 19-21 " Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber. She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy. She has no fear of winter for her household, for everyone has warm clothes.

Maria is survived by her four children and their families; Sandra (Frank), Jose Luis (Katyuska), Ilse, and Katherine (Yunior) as well as 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

All of those she loved and touched deeply. Please join us celebrating her life on Tuesday January 13, 2026, between 6:00 - 8:00 PM at New Beginnings Church, 521 Belvedere Rd. West Palm Beach, FL 33405.
