Margaret Elizabeth (Allen) Granda Sunrise January 13, 1940 * Sunset April 1, 2021 The last of nine children to John and Dorcas Allen, Margaret was born in Coleyville, Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies. She grew up under humble beginnings and remained humble during her life. She received her early education in Jamaica, attended Kingston Technical High School graduating with certification from the Royal Society of Arts, England. Margaret married Henry Granda and was blessed with two beautiful daughters Juanita (deceased) and Patrice. She migrated to the US in 1964 with her young family in tow and settled in Brooklyn. New York with support from her sister Mabel. After settling her family, she worked in major corporations in New York and later in New Jersey, attended night classes at Pace University where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She moved to Royal Palm Beach, Florida in 2002 and found a home at Palms West Presbyterian Church and a circle of friends at CAFCI where she volunteered and dedicated her time to the service of her church. After the traumatic deaths of her daughter, brother and sister all within eight months, she returned to work at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County where she managed over $4-Million annually in grant funding for the Tourist Development Council and the County Administration serving over 80 constituents in Art and Culture within Palm Beach County. Margaret retired from the Cultural Council in 2014 but continued to volunteer for her church and CAFCI in serving the community with diverse programs such as the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration and Cultural Diversity Day. Left to celebrate the good times and the bad, the laughter and the tears are her daughter Patrice, grandchildren Vance, Aliya, James, Theresa, great grandchildren Alex, Yvonne, Javier, and EmpressJoi, nieces, nephews and friends. Her extended family Carlton and Amy Willie, Elet Cyris, Barbara Walker and Colin (Joan) Beckford. Pastor Ruffin and my church family I wish you love, peace and joy. .
