Rev. Marco Deleon

Father Marco De Leon went home to be with our Heavenly Father on November 3, 2024. He served as the Parochial Vicar at St. Rita Catholic Church since February 2020. Father Marco was born Marco Tulio De Leon Valiente on June 23, 1955, in Aldea La Providencia, Guatemala to Victoriano De Leon Alvarez and Eufracia Valiente Rubio. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Juan Jose. He is survived by nine siblings, Roberto, Ovidio, Delia, Juana, Yolanda, Dora, Genaro, Guadalupe and Samuel, all of Guatemala, and many nephews and nieces. Father Marco was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest in the Diocese of Palm Beach on May 11, 2001, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Boynton Beach, FL. He served the Lord with great enthusiasm and humility as he endeavored to lead all souls to Christ. He was a much loved and cherished member of our St. Rita Community. He served and led many ministries within the parish in both the English and Spanish Communities and he will be dearly missed by all. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at St. Rita Catholic Church, Wellington with the Wake Service beginning at 7:00pm. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Rita Catholic Church on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 11:00am. Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery immediately following Mass. A reception will follow at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish Hall, Royal Palm Beach from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
