Madlyn LaFleur, 91, of West Palm Beach, FL passed away on April 18, 2015. Born November 1, 1923 in Ann Arbor, MI., she moved to Saginaw at the age of 14. Attended St. Andrews High School, followed by Minzingers Art School. After art school she attended the University of Wisconsin. She studied under Carlos Lopez. Following school she had a career as an illustrator in advertising. Over her lifetime she was fueled by her magnificent passion for art. She was known for her beautiful portrait and landscape painting. She also designed and made jewelry. She cherished her time with her family and friends boating and at their cottages on Lake Michigan. She was predeceased by her husband William Richard LaFleur and daughter Dana Bailey, her brother William Bush. She is survived by her daughter Lisa LaFleur, son in law Thomas Zuidema, grandchildren Brook (Michael) Parent, and Logan Zuidema, and great granddaughter Stella Parent, her son Marc LaFleur, his wife Melisaa Verplank, her son in law Edward Bailey, grandchildren, Mara Bailey, Cory Bailey, and Kyle Bailey. A memorial Gathering will be held 5-6 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Palms West Funeral Home, with a memorial wake beginning at 6 PM. A memorial mass will be held 11 AM on Monday, April 27, 2015 at St. Rita Catholic Church with an inurnment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery.
