Luke Francis Howlett, 74, of Wellington, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 with his loving wife, Margaret, by his side. Luke was born in Manhattan, NY on Oct. 30, 1943 to Mary and Luke Howlett, and later moved to NJ. After graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School in The Bronx, Luke became a steelworker and a proud union member of Local 40, where he remained for 45 years until he retired. He moved to Florida 20 years ago. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret, his children: Kelly and Kathleen, their spouses, and his 5 grandchildren. Luke served on the Village Walk Landscape Committee, was an Usher at St. Therese De Lisieux Catholic Church, and was a Third- and Fourth-Degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus. Luke was a sports enthusiast, and he especially loved the New York Yankees, Giants, and of course, Notre Dame. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 am on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018 at St. Therese De Lisieux Catholic Church, 11800 Lake Worth Road, Wellington, FL 33449. The burial will immediately follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
