Luis Enrique Pinel Zelaya

February 17, 1992 — April 18, 2021

Luis Enrique Pinel Zelaya, "Louie," "Lou," "Loops," 29, born on February 17, 1992 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, passed to the arms of Jesus on April 18th, 2021. Louie grew up in Avon, CT and was very involved in hid hometown throughout his time there including, the Avon High School Rowing Crew team, where he graduated. At the age of 25 he started a new life adventure in Eureka, California, his home for his last remaining years. We find peace in knowing he spent his entire life constantly exploring, seeking answers to life's deep questions and doing what he loved without waiting for tomorrow. Louie came to us full of life since he was in his Mom's womb and lived a life full of wonder, adventure and travels. He has (because he's still with us in Spirit) a smile that can warm any heart, gave big-strong hugs that could take away your breath, wrote poetry and laughed from the top of his lungs. Our family takes comfort in the fact that he will continue doing all of this and more with the other members of our family and his beloved friends that have already reached Eternal Life. Louie is such a special person now in the Spiritual realm, "so unlike anyone else. He made people laugh everywhere he went. He was silly, but also such a deep thinker, always interested in learning more. With a big, passionate heart." As his beloved girlfriend of three years put it. He always loved serving those in need or less fortunate than him. He spent several months in Costa Rica and Spain assisting orphan children and elders who, received his authentic and compassionate love through the International Volunteering Abroad HQ (IVHQ) organization. He had future plans to launch a clothing donation line to send to Honduras and other poor countries of the world. He also had plans to work in the creation of projects to provide clean water in rural towns of Honduras. Louie said, "see you later" to his parents Luis and Arlette of West Palm Beach Florida; his beloved sisters, Mariela and Isabella, his eternal love, Sarah, and loving grandma, "Mama Silvia." He also said "see you later" to his many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and to the so many close friends he called his second family in California, Connecticut, Spain and Costa Rica. His Farewell Mass will be held at 12 noon at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, in West Palm Beach, Florida. May God open up the doors of his Glory to our beautiful Louie!!! Psalm 119:50 "My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise (of salvation) preserves my life!"
