Luis Fernando Nicho

Luis Fernando Nicho Fernández, 89, of Wellington, Florida passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023. He was born in Lima, Peru on April 15, 1934 and married Leonor Suárez on March 5, 1961. Luis served in the Peruvian Air Force for 33 years, retiring in 1986 with the rank of Major General. After an exemplary career in the Peruvian Air Force, Luis stayed busy wearing many hats such as professional soccer team executive and commercial real estate broker in Lima, Peru. In 1996 Luis and Leonor migrated to the United States to be closer to their children and future grandchildren. After migrating he became President of the family business, retiring for a second time many years later. Luis is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leonor Nicho; by his brother Raúl Nicho; by his children Magali Scala, Luis Miguel Nicho, Jose Luis Nicho, Aracelli Shabbot, and Luis Fernando Nicho; by his grandchildren Derek Hyde, Matthew Hyde, Stefan Nicho, Nichole Rood, Michelle Hyde, Gabriel Nicho, Mckenzie Nicho, Samuel Nicho, Magali Nicho and Brianna Nicho; and by his Great Grandchildren Jemma Rood and John Rood. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, mentor and pilot, Luis will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday, December 15th, 2023, at Palms West Funeral Home.
