Luis Manuel Gerena

Our beloved father, Luis Manuel Gerena, "Wilo" to his friends and family, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on April 10, 2025 at the age of 72. Born on December 28, 1952, to Ramon Gerena and Bonifacia Galarza, Luis was one of six children. He is survived by his sisters, Carmen Venet, Carmen Ramos, Mirta Herrera (Joaquin), and his brother, Jose Ramon Gerena. Luis had a passion for old cars, baseball, western movies and fixing things. It truly made him happy to see his grandchildren play sports. He loved playing dominoes with friends and family, and was proud to pass this tradition to his children and grandchildren. Cooking for his family, especially Puerto Rican food, brought him great joy. He was truly a giver with a big heart and would always help those in need. He saw the best in others and wanted to help them reach their goals. Luis' dedication was apparent by his tenure at his place of employment where he worked for in excess of 40 years. Throughout his life he built lifelong relationships with many friends that he would consider part of his family. He leaves behind his children, Luisa Puzder (John) and Hector Gerena (Kerol), and five grandchildren, Reggie, Madison, Aiden, Christiano, and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne and brother, David. A memorial service celebrating Luis' life will be held on April 19, 2025, at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach.
