Lucy Margaret Smith

With heavy hearts and our deep devotion, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Lucy Margaret Smith, née Ford, who left us on October 28, 2025 at the age of 91. Lucy was born in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottinghamshire, England, on September 28th 1934. Lucy lived a full life guided by her faith, gentle spirit, and compassion. Her journey took her from England to Scotland, and around the world. Lucy married Donald Frederick Smith in 1955, and from humble beginnings they went on to build a successful business in England. In 1978 they made the decision to sell everything and emigrate to Florida with their two sons Simon and Toby. Lucy and Donald continued their entrepreneurial spirit as the local Bobcat equipment distributor. When Donald passed away in 1993, Lucy guided the family business with her two sons, growing the enterprise to four locations. "Miss Lucy" was a leader, a mentor and inspiration to so many. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and gentle nature touched the lives of all who knew her generous spirit. Lucy was the nicest person who treated everyone with kindness, and never said a bad word about anyone. The nicest person you will ever meet, ever! Lucy is survived by her two sons Simon and his wife Lucia, Toby and his wife Zoya, her five grandchildren Charles, William and his wife Amy, Jonathan and his wife Ayla,, Sarah and James, and her great grandson Benjamin. Lucy will be remembered for her enduring love of family, her strength of spirit, and her quiet grace and wit. The entire family will forever carry her light, teachings, and her boundless love in their hearts. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday November 22nd, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. David's in the Pines, 465 West Forest Hill Blvd. Wellington, FL 33414 (561) - 793-1976 followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon at the church hall from 12:00- 3:00 pm.
