Lucy Mercedes Sayas

Lucy Mercedes Sayas Age 84, born December 24, 1939 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. Coming to America (Youngstown Ohio in 1954). Loving wife of belated/late Aleandro "Sico" Sayas (55 years). Daughter of Eugenio Santa and Candida Olmeda. She was called to her heavenly home by our Lord, Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Mrs. Sayas was a resident of Royal Palm Beach, since 1987, having come from Youngstown, OH. After 15 years of service, she retired as a Nutrition Aide from The Ohio State University (Mahoning County Extension Service) from Youngstown. Lucy serviced amicably and lovingly in Youngstown, Puerto Rico and West Palm Beach; Choir member. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, Cursillo Movement. She was Co-founder; Damas of Santa Rosa de Lima church, Mary evangelization prayer group of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Damas Católicas en Acción, Holy Name of Jesus and Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. She will be remembered by her surviving daughters Nilda(Heriberto) Lopez, Lourdes Zayas; 6 grandchildren, Aleandro M. Lopez, Natalie M. Eberling, H. Luis Lopez, Nathanael E. Santiago, Amanda L. Gavillan, Wilson J. Gavillan, 8 great grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters, many family members and friends. She is predeceased by her beloved late husband, her parents, two sons, three daughters, two brothers and one sister.
