Lucila Eugenia Vallejo Franco left this world as a feisty 101 years young. She always said "don't call me old"! During the century of her life, Lucy experiences ranged from going to school in a horse drawn carriage, to getting a tour of her son's new home on Skype. What an amazing life! She also experienced incredible wealth as the oldest of nine children of General Eugenio Franco in the Dominican Republic, and incredible poverty when he was killed in a coup d'etat. She left her country with her husband for his homeland, Puerto Rico, to start a new life. There she had her two children, Maria and William. In 1957, the family traveled again, for a better life for their children, to New York. She was a stay at home mom, but worked all her life, running a daycare (and nightcare) facility from home. She was always there to listen, support and share the little she had with her family, as well as anyone in the community who needed her. She was a true servant of God. Now she is with her Lord, whom she was ready to join. Although we will miss her, she is at peace and where she belongs. Lucy leaves behind to cherish her memory and celebrate her life; her daughter and son, Maria and William; one sister, Ninfa; grandsons. Leonardo, Lorenzo, Andre, Joel; her son-in-law, Earl, daughter-in-law, Judy, several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
