Our beloved Lucia Delia Usher of Dangriga, Belize and Wellington, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, in her home after a short bout with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Delia Usher was born in San Estevan, Belize on July 6th, 1934, to Alejo and Aurelia Perera. She was one of nine children. The family moved to Stann Creek where she met and married her husband Jamie Usher in 1955. She is survived by her children, Norman, Ian, John and Alex Usher, daughters in law Angela and Deborah and son in law James Gough, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, her four sisters: Francisca Anderson, Isidra ( Mike) Hancock, Isabela Orio and Maria (Bob) Pinkerton, sister-in-law Solangel Perera brother in law Santiago Gonzalez and multiple nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her husband Jamie Usher, daughter Marie Usher Gough, grandson Christopher Usher, daughters in law Linda and Marguerite, brothers Julian and Omar Perera, sisters Marina Hulse and Ena Gonzalez, sister-in-law Ena Perera and brothers in law Stanley Hulse, Roy Anderson and Orlando Orio. She was affectionately known to most people as Aunt Delia and gave so much love to everyone she met. She and her family hosted numerous holiday parties at their farm on Canada Hill Rd. in Stann Creek. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Funeral preparations are being handled by Palms West Funeral home in Royal Palm Beach, FL with a viewing scheduled for July 7, at 2:00 PM. A Mass of Thanksgiving for her will be held on Monday, July 8th at 10:00 AM at St. Therese de Lisieux church in Wellington. Her body will be interned in Dangriga, Belize.
