Mrs. Lorraine J. Bisbee of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away at home the afternoon of January 28, 2012. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 11, 1944. Her mother and father soon moved to New York where she resided until 1999. Her loving family including her husband Michael, Daughter Laura, son Michael, daughter-in-law Elizabeth and Cousin Laura were at her side when she passed away. Lorraine lost her battle with cancer that she fought for the last four years. Mrs. Bisbee courageously fought severe rheumatoid arthritis most of her adult life yet she never showed her pain but always greeted people with a smile. Because of all the courage she showed in dealing with her illnesses, her husband always looked up to her as his hero. Mrs. Bisbee first met her future husband when she was 13 years old. After dating one or two other boys on and off as a teenager for several years she graciously agreed to a date with her future husband. They dined and danced at the Tavern on the Green in Central Park, New York. After that date they began seeing each other almost continuously until they were engaged in October 1962 and married the following year on October 12, 1963. Mrs. Bisbee was so very happy when her son Michael was born on July 14, 1964 and daughter Laura on March 19, 1967. She adored her children and gave them all the love she had. She was proud that she saw her children grow up, graduate from college, and become successful adults in their chosen careers. When her grandchildren, Samantha and Alexandra were born, she could not have loved them enough. Her grandchildren always brought joy. Mrs. Bisbee leaves behind her beloved husband of 48 years, her son Michael and daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Boynton Beach, Florida, and two beautiful grandchildren, Samantha and Alexandra, daughter Laura of Manhattan, New York, and her many loving family members. Memorial services will be held at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach on Tuesday, January 31st from 6 to 9 PM. A mass will honor her at St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington on Wednesday February 1st at 10:30 AM. After the mass, she will be buried at Our Lady Queen of Peace cemetery on Southern Blvd. in Royal Palm Beach. Her husband requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
