Lori Felton Gutzeit, age 61, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 16, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Lori was born October 23, 1958 in Miami, Florida and was the daughter of the late Robert and Katherine (Sidelinker) Felton. She was the loving wife of Edward Gutzeit, Loxahatchee, FL, loving mom to Robert Ian Quinones, Loxahatchee, FL, Katherine (Kelli) Quinones Pryce and her husband, Lascelles, Green Cove Springs, FL, Jacob Gutzeit and his wife, Ashley, Jim Thorpe, PA and Hunter Gutzeit, Jim Thorpe PA. She was also the loving and adoring Nana to her grandson, Mathias Lascelles Pryce, her pride and joy. Lori is also survived by her 2 brothers, Robert Dale Felton, Woodbridge, VA and Gary Ross Felton, Ocala, FL. Lori graduated from Miami Christian School in 1976 where she played softball and basketball while excelling in volleyball. She was also in the band and chorus, and was a gifted pianist. She worked at the South Miami Emergency room and then spent many years as the office manager at the Hernia Institute of Florida. Lori's true joys came in spending time with her children and grandson as well as using her God-given talent at the piano to minister to others. She was the church pianist at Wayside Baptist Church, Kendall, FL and Grace Fellowship, West Palm Beach, Fl. Another joy for Lori was traveling with Ed, to all kinds of places like Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Hawaii, Grand Canyon, to name a few. During these trips they did such things as zip lining, go-karting, dune buggying, white water rafting, a camel ride to the Outback in Australia, ATVing, etc. When Lori wanted to learn something new in crafting or cooking, etc. she put everything she had into it until it was perfect! She was also a marksman sharp shooter! The Gutzeit home became known for great 4th of July picnics and fireworks, legendary birthday celebrations, church group dinners and Lori, being the exceptional cook and hostess that she was, made it THE place to be! Lori's smile could light up a room wherever she went, and it didn't dim, even in the midst of dealing with her cancer. Numerous times, during visits to Moffitt Cancer in Tampa, for treatments, or appointments, she was asked how she could smile and laugh while going though this. And she would very clearly share that she KNOWS she will be spending eternity with her Lord and Savior. A Celebration of Life service will take place at Family Church Downtown, 1101 S Flagler Dr, West Palm Beach, FL, at 1 PM on Saturday, March 14 in the Worship Center with a time of fellowship immediately following the service in the Welcome Center.
