Lori Amalia Alvord

January 3, 1989 — August 8, 2025

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day." The world became a little brighter when Lori Amalia Iglesias was born on January 3rd 1989 in West Palm Beach, FL into the loving arms of her parents, Hector and Marianne Iglesias. From that first day, she was surrounded by a close-knit family, her grandmother, her twin sister, her brothers and all her cousins who shared in her laughter, adventures, and milestones. Lori grew up creating a childhood full of warmth and connection. In high school, she proudly marched as part of the color guard, embracing the teamwork, discipline, and joy that came with it. After graduating, Lori pursued her passion for teaching at Florida Atlantic University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. Her life took its most beautiful turn when she met her husband Kyle Alvord. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, teamwork, and unwavering devotion. Their greatest blessing came with the birth of their daughter, Emily, a piece of Lori's heart that will live on forever. Being a mother was her proudest role, and every decision, every sacrifice, every ounce of energy she had was poured into giving Emily a life full of love. Lori's joys in life were as vibrant as her spirit. She loved the holidays, not just for the season, but for the chance to decorate, celebrate, and bring people together. She found magic in the traditions she created, whether hosting parties or filling her home with the warmth of the season. She cherished trips to Universal and Disney, shared a love of food adventures, always ready to try something new, and enjoyed cozy movie and game nights where laughter and love filled the room. Life tested Lori in ways few could imagine. After the birth of Emily, she faced a series of medical battles, very bad infections, chronic pancreatitis, end-stage renal disease, and countless hospital stays. Yet through every setback, she fought with grace and courage. She smiled when she was in pain. She encouraged others when she could have asked for encouragement herself. She never let illness define her, it was simply another chapter in a story still rich with purpose, joy, and hope. As a teacher, Lori inspired her students not just to learn, but to believe in themselves. She approached every classroom with patience, warmth, and the belief that every child was capable of something great. Outside the classroom, she was the heart of her family, organizing holidays, creating traditions, and making sure every person felt included and loved. Lori is survived by her husband Kyle, their daughter Emily. Her parents Hector and Marianne. Her twin sister Lisa and her brothers, Steven and Michael. Her extended family consists of nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and her most beloved family member, her grandmother.
