Lionel R. Pollacchi

Lionel Roger Pollacchi, 96, of Wellington, FL, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013. Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of Joseph and Marion Ratta Pollacchi. Growing up, he worked with his father in the family restaurant business. Lionel transitioned into the investment business. At the age of 40 he founded Palmer, Pollacchi and Company Inc., the original independent broker dealer for mutual funds. His hobbies included music, playing the piano, golfing and cooking. He was also an avid Patriots fan. Lionel's memory will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Aurica Lozzi Pollacchi; children, Marion (Joseph) Gaudet and Lionel "Lee" J. (Tina Riechmann) Pollacchi; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Penniman, Jennifer (Dan) Hart, Genna (Felix) Velazquez, Lionel J "LeeJay" Pollacchi Jr. and Derek Pollacchi; great grandchildren, John Hart, Ben Hart, Dianelis Velazquez and Jaelynn Velazquez; along with other family members and friends. Lionel was predeceased by his first wife of 28 years, Genevieve Cortina Pollacchi. A visitation will be held 5:30-7:30 PM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Palms West Funeral Home, with a wake service beginning at 6:00 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Rita Catholic Church. Lionel will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery following mass.
