Linda Marie Campitelli

October 14, 1989 — October 28, 2024

Linda Marie Campitelli passed away suddenly on October 28, 2024, just two weeks after her 35th birthday. Her tragic death was unexpected, and her family and friends are profoundly shocked and saddened. Her loss will leave a large hole in many hearts. Linda was born on October 14, 1989, in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Miami Southridge Senior High School, earning a full academic scholarship to the University of Miami. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2012, she enrolled in UM's Accelerated one-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She excelled in her nursing studies, serving as a peer tutor, and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. In 2014, she began her nearly decade-long career as a registered nurse, working at South Miami Hospital in the Cardiac and Vascular Institute. 2015 was a big year for Linda: She purchased her first house, and she met husband Jon Campitelli, a medical resident at Larken Hospital in Miami. They quickly learned they shared a fondness for the ocean and the outdoors, falling in love while fishing, boating, snorkeling, and kayaking; over dinner dates; and on trips together to the Keys, Sanibel, and the Bahamas. They married in April of 2016, sharing a home with Linda's great-aunt Edy, Duke the dog, and Oliver the cat. They welcomed daughter Madison shortly before moving to Wellington, where they found their forever home and filled it with laughter and love. Daughter Olivia completed their family, and Linda doted on her husband and girls. She was looking forward to starting a new job at a local Cleveland Clinic location in December and had recently been accepted into the Winter 2025 class of Nova Southeastern University's Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program – both which would have afforded her more time with her family. Linda was beautiful inside and out; a strong, kind, and thoughtful woman who cared about things passionately and made an impression on everyone she met. She was bold, sassy and fun-loving. She was smart as a whip and had a near-photographic memory. She was always up for an adventure and didn't want to miss out on anything, her calendar filled with fun family outings, date nights, and time with friends. She was a fierce competitor, yet had a heart of gold. She treasured spending time with her God-given and chosen families. She was the pride and joy of her parents and her mom's little princess. At work, she took care of her patients selflessly and was a valued and trusted colleague. In her time off, she was all-in supporting her daughters as homework helper, class mom, dance mom, gymnastics mom, and soccer mom. She loved to travel, go to the beach, bake, dress up, try new restaurants, ride horses, start impromptu dance parties, cuddle on the couch with her kids, and celebrate the successes and milestones of her loved ones. While we are filled with sorrow at Linda's untimely passing, she lived her life with gusto, filling it with memorable moments and experiences. She worked hard to make her dreams happen, she was happy, and she was cherished. Cheer on the 9-0 Miami Hurricanes in her memory this season. Count your blessings, and hug your loved ones extra tight for her. In addition to her husband and daughters, Linda is survived by her parents, Edina Russo (Jon-Wesley) and Ismael Casanas (Elena); brothers Nick Casanas (Kindra) and Tyler Richmond; aunt Angelique Russo-Philippe (Aly'sia) and uncles Harry Ewald (Sharon) and Victor Casanas; mother-in-law Pirjo Campitelli, father-in-law Robert Campitelli, and sister-in-law Anna Rubenstein (Aaron); cousins Roosevelt and Bianca; nephews Miles and Elios and niece Robin; as well as numerous other relatives, colleagues, friends, and pets. Linda is predeceased by her grandparents and beloved great-aunt, Edith Donoway.
