Obituary for Lecent Mundy
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lecent Roy Mundy, who passed away on June 4, 2026 at the age of 81.
Born on March 5, 1945 in Pullet Hall District St. Elizabeth Jamaica, West Indies. Lecent lived a life of generosity, dedication to family and friends. He was a devoted father, husband, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather who touched many lives.
Lecent spent his career as a taxi driver and then Truck Driver. He spent his days outside cleaning his yard no matter how hot or sunny or raining cleaning and doing something to keep himself occupied. He specifically enjoyed sitting in front of the television and watching his westerns and cussing.
He is survived by his three loving daughters La’Jean (Jackie) Mundy-Chisolm, Josie Mundy, and Donisha Hall. Also, four grandkids Shawn Chisolm, Stefon Chisolm, Nico Chisolm and La’Naiya Chisolm and four great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Hezekiah and Estamita Mundy, his wife Zena Mundy and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by sisters – Icilda and Lois (Jean) and brother Venerice (Cooleyman).
Anyone who knew Lecent will remember him for his sayings which cannot be said on here, but if you know you know. He never wanted to update and be current with technology so he still carried flip phone. And don’t talk while he is watching his westerns cause no matter how many times, he may have seen them he was focused. His love, wisdom, crazy sayings and strength will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know him even when he was unable to talk.
Funeral will be held on June 16, 2026 at the Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 and Burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on 10941 Southern Blvd (Off State Rd 7/441) Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home.
While we mourn his passing, we will celebrate the life he lived. The world feels quiet without him, but the love he gave continues to be remembered in our lives. He will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of his family and friends. This is not a goodbye, until we meet again, we hold you close in our hearts and memories.
