Lawrence "Larry" LaBate passed away peacefully at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach. Born on May 5, 1948 in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Jerry and Emily (Posytan) LaBate. Larry was a bass player for BJ Thomas and Septa Records before he was called to serve his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Larry served from 1968 until 1971 aboard the USS Grant Naval ship. After an honorable discharge he became a finance manager for Lexus/Toyota dealerships throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties for 37 years. Larry enjoyed playing music and fishing. Left to cherish Larry's memory is his loving wife Donna, sons; Edward LaBate of Altus, OK; Phillip (Florence) LaBate of West Palm Beach, FL, siblings: Henry (Diane) LaBate of Traverse City, MI; Maryann Peters of Chaska, MN; Jineane LaBate of Freehold, NJ; Emily (Steve) Rzeplinski of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren; Oscar, Edward, Jr., Lilly Ann and many friends.
