Heaven gained an Angel when Lauren Mollica Hafner passed away on September 2, 2021. Lauren Ann Mary Mollica was born on November 3, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York, to her mother, Vivian, and her father, John Mollica. Lauren was the youngest of two siblings. Lauren's sister Andrea, and their mom were inseparable. They enjoyed roller skating, attending Yankee games, summer excursions on the Day Liner, and weekly family outings to Manhattan Beach and Coney Island during Lauren's early years. As Lauren reached her adolescent years, she enjoyed spending time with her countless friends, going to bars in Brooklyn and NYC, and having lots of fun. She was always the life of the party. After Lauren married, her greatest and proudest accomplishment was her son, Aidan. Lauren and Aidan enjoyed playing games, being silly, and caring for the countless ducks and squirrels near their home. One of Lauren's fondest memories is when they swam with the dolphins in the Bahamas. Their love for animals led them to rescue their dog, Abby, (who has since passed away) in addition to their cats, Eli and Peyton. Lauren enjoyed traveling the world with friends and going on cruises with her sister and mother. She traveled extensively with her sister, Andrea, and brother-in-law, Frank. Her love of music led to her attending hundreds of Bon Jovi concerts throughout her lifetime. Lauren traveled the world and loved absorbing different experiences throughout the way. Lauren always had a passion for helping others. She became a Registered Nurse over 30 years ago, and it was at that time that she relocated to Florida. Lauren greatly impacted the lives of so many patients. Even while traveling, whether on an airplane, cruise, or the streets of NYC, she always put her nursing skills to work to help someone in need of medical attention. Lauren worked as a frontline worker throughout the COVID pandemic. She saved so many lives, but sadly, she was taken by the same virus as some of those she cared for. Lauren is survived by her dearest 15-year-old son, Aidan Paul Hafner, sister Andrea, and brother-in-law Frank Plescia, her two precious cats, Eli and Peyton, and countless family and friends, including those with whom Lauren worked throughout the medical community. Lauren joins her mother, Vivian Mollica, grandmother Margaret, and grandfather Raymond Durnin in heaven, along with her pets Abby, Katie, Luke, Leia, and PJ, other family members, and friends. Lauren was a fun-loving spirit. She lived with no regrets and always enjoyed life to the fullest. She was genuine and loyal. Her passion for life was infectious and so was her beautiful smile. Lauren lived well and laughed often. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Palm Beach Purrs https://palmbeachpurrs.org/ or Big Dog Ranch Rescue https://www.bdrr.org/ in honor of Lauren. Both animal rescue organizations were near and dear to her heart. A live stream of Lauren's service will be available here: https://www.adventmarketing.org/funeralmass
