Lary Brooks Mccants

Lary Brooks McCants, 77, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away on July 4, 2023. Lary was Born on December 20, 1945 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach to George Brooks and Mary Louisa McCants. Lary graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1963. While married and working to support a growing family, Lary attended evening classes at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1977. His business career started as a tech at IBM in Boca Raton and after 21 years Lary resigned as Distribution Functional Manager and accepted a position at IBM Southeast Employees' Federal Credit Union (now iThink Financial). Lary enjoyed 25 years at the Credit Union before retiring in 2013 as CEO. Lary was predeceased by his brothers Elam and George McCants and his sister Martha Smith. He is survived by his sister Mary Schratt, his brother Jack McCants (Kay), and his beloved wife of 54 years Patricia along with their children Christopher Brooks McCants (Amy), Kevin Elam McCants (Jaime), Melissa McCants Caldwell (Kelly). Lary was also a proud grandfather to his five grandchildren: Bella (JP), Zoie, Lary Brooks, Zachary, Chase and his great grandson Jayce. A Requiem Mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 345 S. Military Trail, WPB 33415 on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 12pm followed by a reception at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club, 9697 Mayacoo Club Drive, WPB 33411.
