Lajuana Mcguire Helton

LaJuana McGuire Helton was born to Jack and Mary McGuire in Parsons, Kansas. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Florida. LaJuana graduated from high school in Winter Garden, Florida. She worked several service industry jobs before becoming a Juvenile Justice Department Corrections Officer. She met and married Richard L. Helton in 1968, and they have a son Richard Alan Helton. She retired from the Juvenile Justice Department after serving 27 years. At church and at Florida Highway Patrol Retirees Association meetings she is best known for her smile and "hi-honey" greeting. LaJuana enjoyed crafting and painting ceramics, most of which she gave away to people who liked what she had made. LaJuana is survived by her husband Richard L. Helton, son Richard Alan Helton (Angelyn), granddaughter Yvonne Angela, grandson Delfin Helton, brother Harold McGuire (Tammy), brother-in-law Stanley Helton (Beth).
