Lacy Trotwood DeBurgh Hinds, 77 of Loxahatchee Groves, Florida (formerly of Norwalk, CT) passed away on November 28, 2023. Lacy was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on July 3, 1946, and he moved to the United States with his family, in 1967. He worked for Pitney Bowes and attended Norwalk Technical College. He was drafted and served in the United States Army from 1970-1972 as a computer systems operator, Fort Richardson, Alaska. He earned the United States Army Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged. Upon discharge, he worked as a salesman for Nabisco, in Wilton. Lacy worked as business entrepreneur for most of his life, starting with a landscape company, in Fairfield County, CT. Mr. Hinds retired after surviving a catastrophic cardiac event and stroke, in 2006. He spent retirement enjoying the serene setting of his parents' home in Loxahatchee. He was able to live each day exploring his environment filled with tropical fruit trees, a small fishpond, and the other wildlife. He especially enjoyed taking daily and long wheelchair rides, on beautiful Florida days. Lacy will be remembered for many things, but his sense of humor and his infectious laughter will be remembered by all. He is pre-deceased by his father, Sidney Hinds and sister, Caroline Weaver. Lacy is survived by his mother, Gloria L. Hinds; his daughter Patricia Durrance, her husband Allen Durrance; sisters Marcia Sutton, Paulette Hollenbeck, and Denise Arcari; brothers Lyman and Sidney Hinds II; grandchildren: Ashley and A.J. Smythe; nieces and nephews; Dawn Sutton and Jennifer Sutton, Jay Hollenbeck and Joseph Hollenbeck, Peter and Lyman Hinds II, John Arcari, Jessica Arcari, Elizabeth Arcari, and Andrea Arcari, Erica Widmann, Rachel Consentino, and Nicholas Weaver, Sidney Hinds III, Cecelia Hinds, and Sophia Hinds, Jack Sutton, Peter Hinds II, KiKyio Hinds, London Hinds, Lyman Hinds III, Lailah Hinds, and Akio Hinds, Aiden Conerly, Braelyn Arcari, and Guilia Arcari, Leila Widmann, Finnley Widmann, and Dylan Widmann, Sienna Consentino, Knox Consentino, Knoll Consentino, Nicholas Weaver, Bailey Weaver, and Kylee Weaver, Hadley Hollenbeck, Tait Hollenbeck, and Reese Hollenbeck, Emerson Hollenbeck, Eden Hollenbeck, and Eva Jyothi Hollenbeck; and loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
