Kovia Monet Hamilton was born on September 2, 1971 and passed away on July 7, 2017. She was 45 years old and a resident of Royal Palm Beach, FL with her husband Mark, daughter Satya and son James. She was born and raised on the island of Barbados in the West Indies, and though she may have traveled far from its shores, she remained a down to earth island-girl with a firm foundation her entire life. Kovia attended the Happy Vale Montessori, St. Gabriel's and Christ Church Foundation Schools in Barbados. After working for Barclays Bank for many years after leaving Foundation School, she took a brave leap and left her beloved Barbados in 1996 to attend the Florida International University where she graduated in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree. It was at FIU that she met her future husband, Mark Hamilton, on September 21, 1996 and they were married in Barbados on August 14th, 1999. Kovia also obtained a Masters degree from Florida Institute of Technology in 2007. Kovia was a quiet tower of strength with a beautiful spirit and an infectious smile. She served as both an anchor and compass for her family. She loved being a mother and enjoyed Satya's passion for life and dance and James' incredible wit and humor. She will live on in and through her children. Kovia was the wife of Mark's dreams having been married for almost 18 years and they shared many happy and unforgettable times together during a span of 21 years that will be remembered and cherished forever. As a friend, Kovia was as loyal and true as anyone could ask for always there to lend an ear or hand! Kovia is survived by her husband Mark and their two children Satya and James; her parents Albert & Diane Agard; her brother Chad Agard; aunts Ingrid Broadnax, Eleanor Newsam, Angela Agard-Shand, Carmen Newsam-Dixon, Wendy Jones & Jenny Murray; uncles: Orville Agard & Tony Newsam; nephews Romain & Dmitri and nieces Jada & Alexa; father-in-law John Hamilton. She also has many cousins; godchildren and other family members and friends. She was an amazing person to so many people and she loved and touched them all deeply. Kovia's footprints will forever be firmly planted in our hearts!
