Kenneth James Birdsall

June 12, 1950 — April 12, 2019

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Kenneth James Birdsall, age 68, on April 12, 2019. He was the son of the late Gordon & Patricia Birdsall. Ken went to his eternal home after complications following a heart transplant procedure at Cleveland Clinic in Weston Florida. Ken was born in South Bend, Indiana on June 12, 1950. After graduating from John Adams High School in South Bend, Indiana in 1969, he began his lifetime career in the field of plumbing, eventually becoming a Master Plumber, then a Master Contractor, and he then established HPI Plumbing. Ken married his "Rootbeer Stand" sweetheart, Monica Marie Perri, on April 24, 1971, in South Bend. After honeymooning in Florida, they decided to move to Florida and build their future there, making their family and business dreams a reality. Ken is survived by his wife, Monica Marie Perri, and their three children, Vanessa Birdsall-Martenson (Nick Canal), Shane Birdsall, and Sam Birdsall. He is also survived by their five grandchildren, Cassidy Martenson, Autumn Birdsall, Tristan Birdsall, Tyler Birdsall, and Dylan Birdsall. Additional surviving family members include his sisters Nancy (Joe) Lindsley and Connie (Joe) Solberg, his brothers Rick (Pam) Birdsall and Jim (Lori) Birdsall and many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Diana Wills, his grandson Chase Martenson, and his nephew Nathan Birdsall. In addition to his plumbing business, Ken ultimately became a Licensed Minister, and was actively involved with Giving To Missions. Ken was devoted to his wife, his children, and his grandchildren, and he loved Jesus Christ with all his heart. He chose to disciple and instruct those around him in both word and deed. Ken's desire to live life to the fullest was prominent in all aspects of his life, including his family, his job, and his ministries. He will be sorely missed by his loving family, his many friends, and by the numerous people whose lives he touched in the short 68 years he lived life on this earth. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, Florida 33441, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the service at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Bishop Leroy York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Ken's name.
