Kathryn M Banks

On Monday morning, June 7, 2021, Kathryn Marie Dee Banks (Katie), loving wife and mother of three children, passed away peacefully in her home of West Palm Beach, FL, at the age of 66. She was born in St. Petersburg, FL. on November 6, 1954, to Mary Ann and J. Roy Dee, Jr. On September 9, 1972, she married Steven Kent Banks, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life for 48 years, in Mt. Carmel, IL. They moved to Dunellen, FL, to begin their life together. From there, they moved to New Mexico for a short period and then back to Mt. Carmel, IL, to raise their girls, continuing education, and further their careers. Katie attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Mt. Carmel High School, and Wabash Valley Junior College. Then, following in her grandfather's footsteps, a dentist attended Southern Indiana University at Evansville, where she earned her dental hygiene degree. She worked as a hygienist for over 30 years in Mt. Carmel, IL, before retiring and returning to Florida to be with her daughters. Katie had a passion for painting, gardening, nature, and her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Katie always had such kind words and something funny to share. She was a hard worker, had many talents, and touched many people's lives with her kind and compassionate spirit. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by many. She is survived by her daughters, Page Kuhlman and husband Jay of Atlanta, GA and Shelly Euell and husband T.J. of Loxahatchee, FL., her grandchildren Ethan Adams, Tabitha Higgs, Samantha Adams, all of Princeton, IN. Finnigan Kuhlman of Atlanta, GA, Dalton, Colton, Bowen Euell of Loxahatchee, FL, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings; Coleen (Merle) Butterick, Asheville, NC; Teresa Salmon, Deland, FL; J. Roy (Debbie) Dee, III, Mt. Carmel, IL; Susan Crabb, Ocala, FL; Angela Dee (Ed Sikora) and Mike (Shannon) Dee, Aliceville, AL; Sara (Dave) Kroeger and Patricia Dee (Danny Hutchinson), Seneca, SC; Ellen Bass, Bridgeport, IL and Jean (Matt) Lewis, Edwardsville, IL. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Katie is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Melanie Banks, and brother John Dee.
