Karen Ellen Stedman

It is with great sadness & heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Ellen Stedman, 63 of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on April 26th, 2018. She passed comfortably at her home with her family by her side after a long battle with Metastatic Lung Cancer. Karen was born in Malone, NY, raised in Constable, NY and moved to Florida in the mid to late 70's. She went to college at Northwood University (WPB, FL) where she graduated and became a prominent CPA in the community. She was also a treasured member of the University Board of Governor's & received a Doctorate from the university in 2000. She founded Stedman-Fleury CPA in 1987 in Palm Beach Gardens and ran the business until 2017. She was a member of many local community organizations and was a prominent and beloved parishioner of St. Patrick's Church (PBG, FL) from 1985 until her passing. Where she served as a member of the finance committee, head of the Eucharistic Ministers, among other roles. Karen is survived by her son, Christopher Stedman (35), her daughter, Jennifer Stedman, MD (33) who is an Anesthesiology Resident in Brooklyn, NY, and her Parents Ernest & Eleanor Fleury, (both 90). She is also survived by her brother Marshall Fleury (66) with his wife Lynn, her sister Deborah Brown (64) with her husband Patrick, and her sister Tina Keneaster (62) with her husband Bill. She is also survived by multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, aunts, uncles & friends between Florida & New York. Karen's light and infectious smile left an impact on this world reaching from India to Africa to Ireland to right here at home. Always willing to lend a hand and help anyone who needed it no matter what. "While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet her behind the veil. John Taylor" It was the wish of Karen to not have a funeral or memorial service, but the family will have a Mass said in Karen's name at her beloved parish, St. Patrick's Church (13591 Prosperity Farms Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410) on May 20th, 2018 at 9:30am. Anyone is welcome to attend.
