June Hartley Hathcock

June Hartley Hathcock, 88, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, March 9, 2019. June was born February 10, 1931 in West Orange, New Jersey and was the only child of Jacob (Pop) and Emma Hartley. June graduated from college with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She married her first husband Robert Schmidt and they moved to Miami in the early 1950's. They began their lives together on the Miami River in a house boat. June worked as a Registered Nurse on the midnight shift and raised three boys by herself after losing Robert in a tragic accident. After some time, June remarried Cornelius Hathcock and they had one daughter together. June worked tirelessly as a nurse in a variety of capacities for more than Forty-five years to provide for herself and her four children until she retired in 2003. After retiring June made it her passion to watch her four grandchildren grow and play sports. June is survived by her four children Richard Schmidt, David Schmidt, Robert Schmidt, and Catherine Hathcock-Greer; daughter in law Jennifer Schmidt; Four Grandchildren Marissa Schmidt, Stephanie Schmidt, Britney Schmidt, and Katelyn Schmidt. June will be laid to rest in private ceremony. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407.
