Judy Laverne Collins Foster Spahl was born December 12, 1940, and died May 21, 2024. Judy Spahl, 83, of Wellington, FL died at Amazing Grace Assisted Living in Lake Clarke Shores. She was born in Camden, Arkansas in 1940 to Geneva Emogene Beauchamp and James Thomas Collins. Judy lived in many places as a Navy man's daughter and Air Force man's wife, most notably Midway Island, Japan, France, and Libya. Judy was a beloved elementary school teacher for 35 years, teaching in Texas, Mississippi, and Florida, with 23 of those teaching years at Wellington Elementary School. Judy was a parishioner at St. Rita's Catholic Church since 1985, a Eucharistic minister, taught Catholic education for 19 years and even became a lay Franciscan. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Peter Albin Spahl, they were married for 56 years. She is survived by her son Eric Leon Spahl, her daughter-in-law Kelly and her five grandchildren, Laticha Coker of Tennessee: Kara, Ryan, Brandon, and Dylan Spahl of Wellington. She is also survived by her cousin Olivia "Lib" Pierce of Arkansas, her sister-in-law Helga Reschke and niece Gudrun of Germany and many other loving family, friends, and wonderful caregivers. She will be greatly missed.
