Judy Gottesman, 83, of Wellington, Florida passed away on October 27, 2022. Her passing was sudden, and she is deeply mourned by her beloved family and devoted friends. Judy was born to William and Shirley (Forstat) Spiegel in Woodmere, NY, graduating from Woodmere Academy and New York University with a degree in psychology. She married Dr. Arthur Gottesman on April 8, 1962. After a stretch at Fort Sill, OK, they moved to Huntington, NY, where Arthur established his dental practice and Judy began teaching. Eventually, Judy and Arthur raised their three children (Seth, Scott, Sara) in Lloyd Harbor, NY. Judy was a force of nature. After her short teaching career and stints in Arthur's dental office and at H&R Block, Judy became an extraordinarily successful real estate broker in the Lloyd Harbor-Huntington area. She sold homes to celebrities and billionaires, through her exceptional personal skills, real estate savvy, and enticing cooking ability. Judy was a skilled athlete, fueled by a strong competitive streak, leading to club championships in both golf and tennis. She was an excellent cook, an extensive traveler, a proficient photographer, a dog whisperer, and a great student of art. With a strong charitable inclination, Judy was a leader in several causes, including the Wycliffe Charities, the United Jewish Appeal, and Susan G. Komen. While having an outsized personality, Judy was loving and caring, who always had room at her table for one more. Most of all, Judy loved and was beloved by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Shirley Spiegel, and her siblings, Daniel Spiegel and Joan Spiegel Kane. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 60 years, Dr. Arthur Gottesman, her children, Seth (Kelly), Scott (Shari), Sara De Fazio (Salvatore) and her grandchildren, Carly, Colton, Danica, Noah and Shayna. Funeral arrangements are private. There will be a celebration of Judy's life at Wycliffe Country Club on Monday October 31, 2022.
