Age 67 of Palm Springs, Fl. was called home to our heavenly Father on August 10, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She died at Hospice Buffalo in New York with her daughter Tina and her beloved Angelo at her bedside. Born in Bengazi, Libya on June 7, 1940 to Domenico and Calogera DiGrande, as a young teen she came from Sicily with her family and settled in New York. She was a resident of Florida since 1982. Her life was centered around God, family and friends. She was the perfect daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Her interests included traveling, cooking, entertaining, baking her famous lemon cookies and shoe shopping. She was preceded in death by her father, Domenico DiGrande. She is survived by her mother Calogera DiGrande; son Frank (Naomi) Ciuffetelli; daughter Tina (Al) Sanchez-Cifuentes; three grandchildren, AJ, Gabriella and Frankie, Jr.; sisters, Marie DiGrande, Silvana Cabibbo, Adriana DiGrande and Patricia DeRosa; brother, Carmine DiGrande and life long best friend/sister Fran Forchetti as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 from 7-9P.M. with a wake service at 8:30P.M. at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 at St. Rita Catholic Church, Wellington, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.komen.com or www.hospicebuffalo.com.
