Joseph St. Omer

Joseph St. Omer, affectionately known as "Ukel" or "Joe," passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on January 11, 1939, in Choiseul, St. Lucia, Joe moved to London in 1962, where he met and married his wife, Icylin. The couple later immigrated to Springfield, MA, in 1979, where Joe worked in at Poly-Metal Finishing, a company that supplied the aerospace and defense sector. He and Icylin also established a successful floor cleaning business during their time in Springfield. They retired to Florida in the early 2000s. Joe was known for his deep love of music, especially country and western, and was always ready for a good time. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family and his faith. He is survived by his children, Francesca Johnny, Veronica Leslie, and Ian Gouldbourne, along with 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Joe's joyful spirit, love for life, and gentle soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
