Joseph (Joe) George Duemig, a loving husband proud father and adoring grandfather, entered eternal rest Tuesday, June 21, 2022. The son of Frances Duemig and Joseph Duemig grew up in Oceanside, NY. Joe was born April 22,1950 and graduated from Oceanside High School where he was he was very involved with the Squires from the Knights of Columbus. Joe was dedicated to family and community. This dedication was shown through his passion for volunteering. He volunteered at Baldwin Sr. High (Set Crew Supervisor for 8 years and over 25 musical productions). Students to this day contact him with beloved memories of those years. At Thanksgiving each year, he helped coordinate and cook with his "Special Kitchen Crew Buddies" at least 40 turkeys for the homeless and those in need. He helped coordinate a fundraising food booth at the St. Anthony's of Oceanside Annual Feast (they always ran out of food to sell no matter what they had). For years, he helped with the Knights of Columbus Annual Beach/Picnic festivities at Lido Beach in July. A lot of laughs was always had by all. Each year he also helped plan and coordinate the Knights of Columbus Annual Fraternal Weekend Get Away. By the time that weekend was over everyone had a belly full of laughs and was ready to face reality again. Joe is preceded in rest by his father (Joseph) and nephew (James) and leaves behind his devoted wife Theresa (Terry), children Timothy (Carissa), Elizabeth, granddaughter Alexandria, mother Frances, siblings Frederick (Maureen), James (Rose), Robert (Carolyn), John (Kelly), Marianne and more nieces, nephews and friends than can be named. Rest in peace Joe, we know you are in a place you will make better with presence. We will carry your love of life and laughter with us wherever we go.
