Joseph George Cuccia Jr (Jay), 79, of Greenacres, Florida (previously of Annapolis, MD), passed away Sunday November 23rd, 2014. Jay was born in Patterson, NJ and moved to the Annapolis area after graduating from college. There, he and his father, Joseph George Cuccia, Sr. (George) founded Cuccia Oldsmobile-Cadillac Company. Later in his career he was co-owner of a successful radio station WNAV-AM and WHFS-FM in the Annapolis, Baltimore and the Washington metropolitan area. He retired to South Florida where he spent the remainder of his life. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, and visiting family and friends around the country, especially Maggie Valley, NC. Jay is survived by his beloved wife, Ute J. Cuccia; loving father to son, Jay Cuccia of Towson, MD; daughter, Karen (Michael) Serafini of Crofton, MD; son, Michael (Susanna) Cuccia of Leesburg, VA; daughter, LeeAnn (Tom) McCullough of Crofton, MD; step-son, Louis (Beth) Selesnick of Pompano Beach, FL; step-daughter, Maxine (Brian) Calaluca of Davie, FL; sister, Helen Badenhop of Vero Beach, FL; proud grandfather of Ryan and Stephen Cuccia, Julia and Laura Serafini, Katelyn and Lindsey McCullough, Blake Selesnick and Olivia Calaluca. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 on Saturday December 6, 2014. The family will be receiving friends at 12:30 pm with a service to follow at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jay's name to The Wounded Warrior Project.
