Joseph Francis Buzzendore was called home to the Lord on May 4, 2021. Born December 15th, 1929 in Lancaster PA preceded in death by his mother. Whom he loved beyond words, his father and 11 siblings. Survived by his adoring daughters Elizabeth Buzzendore Dorobiala (preceded by Michael), Taree Jones, Jennifer Buzzendore Ortiz (Jose) and Colette Cacioli whom he loved like a daughter. Also survived by his grandchildren Jerry Watlington Jr. (Mariola) Marshall Watlington (Monica) and Patrick Jones. His great grandchildren Jerry Watlington III, Cody Watlington. Jemari Watlington, Giovanni Watlington and Valentina Watlington as well as too many to mention extended family and friends. Heaven received one of the greatest men that the Lord blessed this earth with. Our father, Joseph F. Buzzendore, (Buzz), went home to be with the Lord earlier this morning surrounded by his family and sent off knowing how much his 3 daughters loved and adored him. There was never any separation between us and we 3 girls would ALWAYS not sometimes but ALWAYS make a way to spend time with him NO MATTER WHAT was going on in our lives. We just love and adore him so much. Our father lived and I mean lived for 91-1/2 years and left his mark on every person he came in contact with. Our dad served this Country for 25 years with pride and honor and traveled the world as he served. Our dad was our ROCK our CONSTANT! My sisters and I don't know life without him. It never mattered what was happening he was always there and I mean ALWAYS there and we girls could not have adored him more. Those who were privileged enough to meet him personally know exactly what I mean when I say that my father was a precious original. They don't make men like him any more. My dad was a hard worker and instilled in us 3 girls what it means to work hard and go after our dreams, supporting us the entire way. My dad had a heart the size of Texas and also imparted in his girls to be generous to those in need. My dad always respected St. Francis and lived by his example every day. Things meant nothing to him - his girls did. My dad worked at the Breakers Hotel for over 30 years at a job beneath his incredible skills, education and knowledge so that he would be able to leave at a moments notice to be there for his 3 daughters NO MATTER WHAT. We all knew that he would give half his body literally knowing it would be replaced if one of us girls needed or wanted for anything. My dad sacrificed HIS life so that we girls were taken care of to the best of his ability and beyond. We were the center of my dads world, we girls are what gave my father purpose since the day we were born and we don't know how we are to do this without his encouragement and support. My father was an avid sports enthusiast as well. He was a professional baseball ball player in the service under an alias (since you couldn't play pro sports and be in the service at the same time) DON'T TELL UNCLE SAM !!!!!!! He also traveled over the world representing the Coast Guard playing PING PONG and kicking butt at it as he did. My father was also on the PRO bowling circuit and we girls loved following him around to all the different locations. He was an incredible bowler and I loved to watch him throw the ball as it would hug the right gutter line and then all of the sudden would turn just in time to STRIKE!!! I would just swell inside watching him. Our dad excelled at whatever he put his mind to... was a great horseshoe pitcher and loved golf... He said he could never play golf professionally because his swing was so hard and he could never just tap the ball.. Our dad also loved the water. This love started as a young boy growing up on the Susquehanna River in Columbia PA.. He said he lived in the water and was like a dolphin in the water. His love of the water is probably what drew him to serve in the Navy and then Coast Guard. I could write a book about the wonders of our dad because he was just that wonderful.. We are still reeling from the reality that our CONSTANT in no longer here physically with us. He lived so hard that his little body just wore out. Our dad was mentally sharp up to the last minute as well. We are so grateful to the Lord allowing everything to fold out as it did. We got to say our goodbyes and tell our dad how much we loved him and be with him til the end and this is something that not everyone is afforded anymore. This world has lost a shining example of what a man and a dad is supposed to be and Heaven gained a humble saint. A saint who can sing. Our dad had a beautiful voice and played guitar and wrote his own songs. Our dad would play for us all the time and he wrote several songs for people at the Breakers who needed to be uplifted . I think he thought he was a sort of innocent Casanova He had a way with ALL the ladies and he could get them to swoon, especially with his sparkling blue eyes and he was tickled by that BUT his heart was always his little girls. There would be no other girl other than HIS GIRLS. We are at peace knowing he is now rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus, reunited with his family (being the baby and last to join Heaven) of 11 kids and to be reunited with his mom that passed when my dad was just 9 years old. He is also reunited with all his fur kids but most specifically Otis who he told us loudly and proudly had replaced us as the top of his love list .... with a BIG GRIN and his beautiful blue eyes twinkling and his little "teeheehee" laugh he had when he was being silly. I know with everything I am that my Michael had been bouncing the last couple of days with anticipation of seeing our dad POPS and I feel that he was there at the gates of Heaven with his beautiful smile excitedly welcoming our dad HOME.
