Beaton, Joseph Peter, Age 94 passed away peacefully on 9/18/18 at the VA Hospital Hospice Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rockaway Beach, NY on January 15, 1924, Joseph was a long time resident of Wellington, Fl. Joe proudly served in the US Army in World War II and fought bravely in the Battle of the Bulge. He was the proud recipient of the Purple Heart, the World War II Victory Medal and the American Service Medal. He was thrilled to go on the Honor Flight to Washington, DC accompanied by his beloved grandson, Cory Beaton. After the war, Joseph became a Commercial Artist on Madison Ave., in New York City. He was the creator of the logo for Kikkoman Soy Sauce. Joseph was an avid golfer, artist and chess player. Joe will be remembered as a kind and gentle man. He would often say "don't take this life too seriously" and that was the motto he lived by. With a deep love for his family, he will be greatly missed. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Dianne, stepdaughter Andrea, sister Eileen Newman.P Sons Jay (Denise), John Thomas (Velda),and daughter Rebecca Krenelka (Todd), grandsons Cory (Kaitlyn), Joseph Peter, Tom and granddaughter Catherine. Great Grandchildren Luke & Arabella and many nieces and nephews. Also very dear friends, Lori Elion and Lloyd Spiro. Special thanks to the VA Hospital, Dr. Silverman, Dr. Grant, Father Dan, Lynnea Valpatic,LCSW, Andrea (Tech), The CLC Staff and the VA Hospital Hospice Staff for their excellent care of Joseph. Interment will be at the South Florida National Cemetery, State Road 7, Lake Worth on October 5, 2018.
