Jose Luis "Pepin" Gonzalez

Jose Luis "Pepin" Gonzalez was born on September 3, 1958 and left us on October 13, 2015 to rest peacefully in his mother's arms forever and ever. Pepin immigrated from Cuba to Miami, FL. at the age of 4 with his family in 1961. He lived out the latest years of his life in Wellington, FL. with his long time friends Cheryl Toppino, Christina Toppino, and extended family Dorita & Tommy Potts, Virginia Rusnock, Dustin Potts, Brittany Potts and Freddy & Aiden Jenkins. He leaves behind two sisters, Nereyda Alfonso and Connie Vergara, his brother Lazaro Gonzalez and nieces Michelle, Elkie, Meli, Ashlee and Stefanie that he spoke of often and held close to his heart. Pepin also leaves behind many, many friends as he could easily make friends and acquaintances anywhere he would go. He loved collecting interesting items and considered himself to be an artist loving to paint and create wind chimes made from drift wood, spoons, and keys. He was happiest when he could hang out at Hobie Beach and share a good time with friends and his beloved companions Diamond and Aussie. He also loved fishing and shrimping off the Key Biscayne Bridge. He was always great with children and loved dogs. He owned and trained several dogs through out his lifetime. Pepin will always hold a memory in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
