John Viau

In Loving Memory of John Viau ("Pops") January 8, 1959 – July 25, 2025 Surrounded by love, John Viau—known to many as "Pops"—passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 66. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the years we had with him—a man who gave so much of himself to his family and to everyone lucky enough to know him. Born on January 8, 1959, John lived a life full of love, humor, and strength. He was the kind of person who made everyone feel comfortable and welcome, whether through a joke, a warm smile, or simply by being there. He had a special way of making people laugh—even in the toughest moments—and shared that same unique sense of humor with his children. John was a devoted husband of 47 years to Denise Viau, loving father to Chrissy and Matt Berquist, and Crystal and Jason Murphy, and a proud grandfather to Tori, Aj, Brody, Payton, Taylor, and Landry, who lovingly called him "Pops." His family meant everything to him, and he showed his love in the most genuine, dependable ways. He was always there—offering support and so much love. He was preceded in death by many loved ones. We will miss Pops' laugh, his stories, his advice, and most of all—his love. He will forever be remembered and deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to his granddaughter Tori's fundraiser supporting children with pediatric illnesses through the Children's Miracle Network—a cause close to his family's heart.
