Jack Kuncl, 82, died peacefully Sunday, May 29, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. Jack was born January 25, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, IA. He served in the Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he moved to Detroit, MI where he met the love of his life Catherine Vella. They were married on August 28, 1954. Jack was always an entrepreneur and a "Jack" of all trades. They raised their nine children in Cedar Rapids, IA where Jack worked at Square D before purchasing a restaurant and lounge and naming it Tic Toc. After owning the Tic Toc for 11 years, he sold it and went into the real estate business. In 1981, they moved to Florida where Jack worked with his brother Tom. He started another business in 1991 called Produce Depot. He was also co-owner of Red Barn Sheds where he worked until the last week of his life. He is survived by 7 of 9 children: Monica (Jimmy) Salcedo, Kay Kuncl, Mary (Jeff) Quell, Sue (Tom) Flaherty, Liz (Steve) Woods, Sara (David) Hovatter, Vince (Diana) Kuncl, and daughter-in-law Lisa Kuncl, 19 of 20 grandchildren and their spouses, 15 great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine, daughter Audrey, son Viktor, granddaughter Nikki, and all six of his siblings. Anyone that has ever known Jack knows that he was the most humble and kindhearted man that would do anything for anyone. He never met a person that he didn't like and was an inspiration to all. He always encouraged everyone to do their best. His family always came first. Anyone he ever met became a welcomed member to his family. Rest in peace "Silver Fox." We would like to thank family and friends for always being there for him, the Opal Team at Hospice for making him feel comfortable until the very end, and St. Rita's Church where he has been a member for 33 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to TrustBridge Hospice of Palm Beach County or St. Rita's Catholic Church. Viewing services will be held Friday, June 3rd from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Palms West Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church on Saturday, June 4th at 10:30AM and burial to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
