March 13, 1987 — November 3, 2020

John Thomas Stevenson March 13, 1987 - November 3, 2020 John Thomas Stevenson, 33, of Wellington, FL, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. His childhood was spent in Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach, FL. He spent many of his adult years in Arkansas but had returned to Florida a few years prior to his death. He was born in West Palm Beach, FL on March 13, 1987 the son of Mary (Blankenbeckler) Stevenson and John Michael Stevenson. John was not one to do things as everyone would expect. He was born determined and ready to go. The Dr. who delivered him said he came into this world a "tiger." His life was lived with a fierceness that matched that prediction. John had a deep love of the outdoors and especially loved fishing. If there was a fishing pole around you'd expect him to shortly disappear. He could be found dropping a line in some nearby body of water. With an easy temperament and the gift of gab, he never met a stranger and quickly made friends. His sincerity kept them around life-long. All those that knew him will attest to his constant smile, hearty laugh and kind spirit. John was a gifted mechanic and finish carpenter. His years in finish carpentry allowed him to travel throughout the U.S. His work life changed over the years mostly by a diagnosis of kidney disease in 2016. It was greatly interrupted when his condition progressed to kidney failure in May, 2019. He was currently being treated on dialysis three times a week while he awaited addition to a kidney transplant list. Although he loved all his friends and family in Florida, he deeply missed Arkansas where he left a large part of his heart. He died unexpectedly of a heart attack while tending his garden in the early evening. Everyone should know that at that time he was hopeful and anticipating a better future. He will be deeply missed by a long list of friends and family. We are forever changed because we knew him and will forever be affected by his absence. Yet, his spirit will remain alive in each and every one of us throughout the remainder of our own lives. He is survived by his mother, Mary Stevenson of Wellington, FL; his father John (Clara) Stevenson of Rising Fawn, GA; his brother Michael (Angela) Stevenson, his daughters: Jenna Taylor and Makala Rose, and son John Thomas Bryson; his grandmother, Margie Stevenson; 6 aunts and 2 uncles; numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 2pm with service to immediately follow on Sunday, November 22, 2020.
