Dr John Mathias Rathgeb Jr, Doctor of Osteopathy (May 4, 1935-January 1, 2014) John "Dr Jack" Rathgeb was born on May 4, 1935 in McKeesport, PA to John and Aileen Rathgeb. He attended Grove City College and went on to Medical School at Kirksville College. In Jack's second year of medical school, he went on a blind date with his future bride of 51 years, Sue Slowensky. Jack and Sue married on July 7,1962 and moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where Jack completed his residency and practiced for some 14 years. The family then moved to Lake Worth Florida where Jack served until his retirement from private practice in 1998. Jack enjoyed life and experienced it to the fullest! He savored spending time with his family Sue, Jeff, Toni, John, and brother in law Teddy. Jack was a committed Christian and 50 year Mason who liked to play tennis, surf fish, snow and water ski. Jack is survived by his loving wife Sue Rathgeb, daughter Toni Savage (husband Gary), granddaughter Lauren Mattox, sister Lynn Kushner (husband Sheldon), brother in laws Teddy Slowensky and Joe Slowensky (wife Janie). Jack was preceded in death by sons Jeff and John. Services will be at Palms West Presbyterian Church on Sunday January 5 at 4pm and a Masonic Ceremony will be conducted in Cuba, Missouri at a later date.
