John Stuart Munroe, 66, of Loxahatchee, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, surrounded by his family. A beloved son, husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, John was born on November 18, 1959, in Tacoma, Washington.

John was known for his passion, strength, and dedication to coaching and mentoring others. He touched the lives of many through his executive leadership and will be remembered for his deep love of family and country.

He faced glioblastoma with courage and determination, supported every step of the way by his family, friends, and the medical teams who cared so deeply for him. His family is profoundly grateful for the support, prayers, and kindness shown throughout his illness.

John is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Elam Munroe; his wife, Amy Munroe; his stepson, Mario Ponce; his two daughters, Carolynn Moffet (Sam Moffet) and Jennifer Arensdorf (Matt Arensdorf); his cherished grandchildren, Ellie, Django, and Grace; his brother, Gary William Munroe, Jr.; his sister, Elizabeth Bliss Munroe Best (Gordon Best), his Uncle Charles Elam; his cousins Reggie Elam (Bruce) and Sara Elam; his nephews Robby Munroe (Kalysta) and Trey Munroe; and his friends Alex Rembert, Joe McCarthy and Glenda Elam and Patrice Munroe. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary William Munroe, Sr.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on May 22, 2026, 11am in the Southern Arizona Memorial Veterans Chapel in Sierra Vista.
