John Vincent Malizia, of Loxahatchee, Florida, formerly of Staten Island/Bronx, NY, and Middletown, NJ, passed away on April 9, 2026. He was born on November 18, 1932, on Sand Lane in Staten Island, NY.
He is predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Pasqualina “Bessie” Malizia; grandson, William Brent Malizia; brothers, Nicholas Malizia and Vincent Malizia; daughters-in-law, Leslie Koenig and Jenna Koenig.
He was the Patriarch of his family. He was a true legend, who defied age with an unyielding spirit at 93. He was the guiding light of his family, a pillar of wisdom, and the last member of a bygone era of dignified gentlemen. With a mind sharp as steel and a heart full of vigor, he lived life to the fullest. His absence will leave a void in the lives of all who knew him, particularly his family.
He was a Korean War Veteran. He earned several medals while deployed. He was proud to be a Combat Veteran.
He was the owner of several businesses during his lifetime, to include Silver Lake Motor Sales, which was an International Harvester Dealership; JVM Truck Rentals; Town & Country Animal Feeds; Mobil Gas Station; and several others throughout the years.
He belonged to the Middletown Kiwanis Club; Middletown Helps its Own; The Moose Lodge; Lifetime Elks Club Member; and he was a member of several pigeon clubs in NY, NJ and FL.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Malizia, Loxahatchee, FL; sons, John R. Malizia (Marie), Belford, NJ; Gerard Koenig (Madeline) Staten Island, NY; Christopher Koenig (Donna), Allendale, NJ; Michael Koenig, Englewood, FL; and Peter Koenig, San Juan Capistrano, CA.
He is also survived by grandchildren, John A. Malizia; Ryan Mahoney; Matthew Koenig; Katie DeNisco; John Bergin; Jake Koenig; Shannon Conaty; Dylan Koenig; Jared Koenig; Devin Koenig; Colby Koenig; Cole Koenig; Luke Koenig; and Brooks Koenig. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Mass Cards would be greatly appreciated.
