John Harold Maier

John was born in West Palm Beach on June 25, 1942. He was proud to be a Floridian. Though as a child he spent summers in Black Mountain, NC, he was never going to move from this place. He loved the areas that looked like "old Florida" to him. John retired from the US Postal Service after many years and spent the last years as a seller of out of print and rare books. He loved flying, astronomy, photography, geocacheing, computers, and learning new things. A thoughtful man, he was invariably kind. He was a good friend to many and always willing to help others. John was a wonderful and loving husband. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, and a sister, Marilyn. He is missed.
