After a long and distinguished career that included promotions and paramedic of the year award, he retired from the Palm Beach County Fire Service with the rank of Captain a few years ago. He owned a cabin on a mountaintop in Tennessee where he and his wife Carol spent their retirement summers. He enjoyed family, friends, traveling, hiking, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, racquetball, a good dinner and a movie along with the brotherhood of the firefighter community. John was preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers, Mark sr. of Newkirk OK, and Dennis, who died in infancy. He is survived by Carol, his loving wife of 22 years, his son John Jr., and his six children and one great grandchild, his daughter Theresa Baker, husband Brian and their daughter; his daughter-in-law Sheila Caballero and her 6 children of Florida. Also 6 siblings, Robert of Oklahoma, his twin James of Arizona, Maryann Quinn of Kentucky, Byron of Georgia, and twins Patrick and Michael of Palm Beach County.
