John Allen Knupp

August 28, 1966 — May 22, 2024

John Allen Knupp, 57, of Wellington FL, passed away on May 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. He attended every concert, recital, and marching band event that his children were in throughout the years. John was born in Anamosa IA, and grew up in Cedar Rapids IA. He graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. He continued his education at the University of Iowa, earning degrees in Chemistry and Computer Science. Although he started an early career in chemistry, he ended up working long term in computer programing and information technology. He left Iowa for a job in Memphis TN where he met his future wife Kristi Woods. They eventually moved to Overland Park KS for new opportunities. John and Kristi were married on October 20, 2001. They had a long and happy marriage and have two bright and talented children. John enjoyed the water, boating, and going to the beach. He moved his family from Kansas to Florida so they could be near the ocean. (And so his wife would stop complaining about being cold.) John is survived by his beloved wife, Kristi Beth Knupp, and their children John Allen Knupp Jr. and Elizabeth Macy Knupp. He also leaves behind his parents, John "Dick" and Leann Knupp, as well as his siblings: Dorene Hickey (Kevin), Jason Knupp (Debbie), and Janice Crow (Steve), sister-in-law Jennifer Woods, and nieces and nephews. And also his in-laws Larry and Judy White He was predeceased by his grandparents (Knupp and DeMean), brother-in-law Jeff Holderman, Uncle Harlan DeMean, and father-in-law Don Woods. John's warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and co-workers will forever be etched in our hearts. Celebration of Life will be on June 19 at 6PM.
