In Loving Memory of John Kelly

John Kelly passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to his family.

John was born on July 22, 1959, in Manchester, Jamaica. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic and was determined to build a meaningful life. At the age of 26, John immigrated to New York in search of better opportunities. Shortly after arriving in New York, he met the love of his life, Charmaine.

John and Charmaine later moved to Connecticut, where John attended technical school and studied heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). He took great pride in his work and in being able to provide for those he loved. John and Charmaine were married and began building a life together filled with love, commitment, and shared dreams.

In time, John and Charmaine made another significant move, settling in Florida, where they continued to build their life together and create lasting memories.

Outside of work and family, John had several passions that brought him great joy. He loved cooking and took pride in preparing meals and sharing good food with the people he loved. He enjoyed playing billiards, where his focus and competitive spirit could shine. He also had a love for woodworking, taking pride in working with his hands and creating things through his own skill and craftsmanship.

Perhaps most uniquely, John had a passion for flying airplanes. He obtained his private pilot’s license, allowing him to enjoy the freedom, adventure, and exhilaration of being in the sky.

John will be remembered for his strength, dedication, determination, and willingness to work hard to create a better life for himself and his family. To his family, John was more than a husband and provider. He was a source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love. His presence brought comfort to those who knew him, and his memory will remain cherished by his wife, children, family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

John is survived by his parents, Carrol Kelly and Isolyn Edwards; his beloved wife, Charmaine Kelly; his brothers, Sherman and Dave Kelly; his sisters, Carol and Maxine; his children, Zonia “Jody” Kelly, John “Jeremy” Kelly, Jamar Kelly, and Chauna Kelly; his grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncle, extended family, and friends.

Though John is no longer with us, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His laughter, his stories, his strength, and the moments shared with him will remain treasured memories that keep him close.

May he rest in eternal peace
