John E. Justiss

John E. Justiss, 77, of Wellington, Fl passed away in his home, surrounded by loving family and friends on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He was the oldest of six children, born to Ernest and Vetres Justiss. He grew up in Live Oak and Wauchula, Florida, spending most of his summers in Marianna with family. He built an outstanding career with nearly 50 years in the insurance business, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was passionate about his faith and dedicated many years to church leadership and spiritual growth. John logged countless hours as a recreational pilot with his passion for aviation. College football was a favorite past time of his, cheering on the alma maters of his children and grandchildren. He always looked forward to his annual Simmons family reunion, to gather and trade stories of years past. Time spent with family was the most enjoyable way he spent his days. Family was his greatest joy. John is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Vetres; his brother, Gene, and his two daughters Jan and Tammy. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Deborah; his children: Lori Shumard (Ronny), Philip Justiss (Lauren), Lauren Ralph (Clay Sheffield) and Charles Ralph; his siblings: Jane Smith (Edward), Linda Scaffe (Richard), Jamie Justiss (Gail) and Jerry Justiss; his many grandchildren and a large extended family. He will be truly missed by those who loved him deeply. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Community of Hope, West Campus 14055 Okeechobee Blvd. Loxahatchee, Fl 33470.
