John Eugene Griffin

John Eugene Griffin of Royal Palm Beach, FL passed away on Friday July 15, 2016 after a long brave battle with cancer. He was 63. John was born September 20, 1952 in Ft. Meyers, FL to Frances and Ralph Griffin. He is survived by his loving wife Caren and precious daughters Laura Griffin of Cape Coral FL, Jennifer Sooklal and her husband Ravi Sooklal of Lake Worth FL, stepdaughters Sharyn Hancock and her husband Cheynne of Clarksville, TN and Melissa Scrimo and her husband Paul of Exton, PA as well as 7 amazing grandchildren; Andrew 23, Adam 21 , Rachel 12, Abigail 10, Chloe 6, Alayna 4, and Noah 2. He is also survived by his devoted brother Jerry Griffin of Ft. Meyers FL. As a young man John loved tinkering with and racing cars with his friends. John worked for Southland Corp for more than 30 years and was a manager before he left to work at Home Depot selling doors and windows. John was very mechanically inclined and could repair just about anything. He enjoyed working on and driving his truck, he was an expert on using all the newest electronic devices, and he relaxed by carving and staining the most unique walking canes created from beautiful tree branches. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Although a bit on the shy side at times John will always be remembered by his family, his neighbors and his many friends as a kind hearted intelligent guy with a quick wit and the ability to make people smile. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FI 33411, visitation is at 10:00 AM and the service is at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Palm Beach Memorial Park, 3691 Seacrest Boulevard, Lantana, FL 33462
